What’s an Herbal Tonic Tea?

Making gentle tonic herbs part of your everyday routine is an easy and delicious way to boost energy, immunity and support your body’s resilience.

Herbs have been allies to humans for thousands of years—for good reason!

If you are weary of the symptom-treatment cycle of the health-care industry, Simplicity Herbal is here to support your wellness deeply and deliciously throughout the year!

When many of us think of herbal teas we think of things like: peppermint tea, sleepy time tea, cinnamon orange, ginger, etc… They are usually lovely flavor combinations that make a nice afternoon cuppa. Some are all about flavor and some have a medicinal bent— think echinacea, tummy tamer or cold care…

There is nothing wrong with these teas. I have a whole shelf in my pantry filled with them.

And yet…

While such teas may taste nice, the reality is that steeping a tea bag in hot water for a few minutes once in a while, does very little in the way of providing us a nourishing benefit.

A tonic tea, is different.

In the world of herbalism, steeping fresh or dried herbs in hot water for a longer period of time is known as an infusion. Infusions can be made with many types of herbs— by themselves or in combination. An herbal infusion extracts more of the constituents of the plant that are nourishing and beneficial to our health.

Making herbal infusions is both an art and a science— there is a lot of learning involved in determining appropriate herbs combinations that taste great and have the desired health benefits.

Some  infusions are meant to treat a specific illness or imbalance. Some are meant to support the whole body, bringing us into balance.

At Simplicity herbal, we focus on the latter…very deliberately blending herbs that have adaptogenic and tonic benefits to the whole body— supporting our immune and nervous systems; creating balance; and supporting vitality and resilience.

Our seasonal combinations of herbs  support the changing needs of our bodies as our inner and external environments shift throughout the year.

Because Simplicity teas are meant to be brewed as strong herbal tonics, we suggest diluting the concentrated infusion with hot water. This makes a wonderfully tasting tea that can be enjoyed anytime— while still ensuring that we are benefiting from the strong herbal extract.

By their nature, tonics are meant to be incorporated as a regular part of our wellness routine. Our goal is not to offer a quick fix but rather to support you deeply in your journey toward wellness and resilience.

Not your average cup of tea.

Better.

Make herbal tonics part of your daily routine!
